Links to: Westcountry Way
Distance: 14.6 miles (23.5km)
Difficulty: moderate
Route
Intro:
In the heart of Dartmoor rises two rivers - the West Dart and the East Dart. Where they join forces is known as Dartmeet. Curious that. Our route circumnavigates this confluence and criss-crosses the two clear moorland streams (or torrents if they're in spate) on great granite boulders. A good sense of balance is required - there are no convenient bridges.

Where the Rivers Becky and Bovey come together on the eastern edge of Dartmoor there’s a small but excellent area of challenging trails. Steep and wooded these two valleys are considered by many to be the jewel in Dartmoor’s crown. By way of contrast, and just a short hop west, Dartmoor offers some of its best open moorland riding. This ride takes in a tasty chunk of each.
